Hellweathers Honey

ABOUT

Founded in 2020, Hellweathers Honey began as a small local beekeeping project driven by curiosity, craft, and a love for the Kent countryside. What started with just a couple of hives quickly grew into a shared family venture for Guy and his wife, Georgie.

Our name, Hellweathers, is inspired by the striking rock formation on the Isles of Scilly. A place full of rugged charm and character. It reflects our appreciation for the outdoors, and the challenging weather of our early beekeeping journey!

Today, we keep our bees across several peaceful corners of Kent, including Marden, Chainhurst, and Matfield. Surrounded by orchards, wildflowers, and farmland, our apiaries sit right in the heart of the “Garden of England,” giving our bees a rich and varied forage that helps produce delicious, high-quality honey.

What We Do Through the Seasons

Beekeeping is a year-round craft, and each season brings a new focus:

Spring: Setting the Year Off Right

As the bees emerge from winter, we check colony health, ensure they have what they need to build up strongly, and work to prevent unwanted swarming.

Summer: Space to Make Honey

This is the busiest time in the hives. We add extra space for the bees so they can store nectar and ripen it into honey throughout the warm months

Autumn: Harvest Time

Once the main nectar flow has finished, we carefully extract the honey the bees don’t need for winter. It’s the reward for months of hard work, from the bees and from us.

Winter: Crafting and Preparing

While the bees cluster in their hives, we turn our attention to making beeswax candles, tidying equipment, and planning for the next year ahead.

Our Honey

Every jar of Hellweathers Honey is crafted with care, from hive to extraction to bottling. We focus on small-batch, local, seasonal honey that reflects the landscape our bees live in.

The Bees

Our bees are of the Buckfast breed, genetically, calm and prolific, one of the oldest and most resilient bee varieties.

Nestled in the heart of the Kent countryside, our apiaries thrive in the lush “Garden of England” producing high-quality honey that we’re proud to share.

From our hives to your table, we ensure every jar of Hellweathers Honey is crafted with care and dedication.
